Specialist Audiologist
Ms. Mini Gupta
Mini looks after the full range of hearing and ear care. That includes hearing tests and hearing aid fittings, wax
removal by microsuction, care for outer ear infections, and assessment of balance and dizziness symptoms.
Alongside this everyday work, she has spent her career specialising in the harder problems: tinnitus,
hyperacusis and misophonia (when everyday sounds become difficult to bear), and auditory processing
difficulties. She started All Ears Hearing & Tinnitus Clinic in Melbourne in 2017, and audiologists across the
country now send her their more complex tinnitus and sound sensitivity patients.
Mini’s background is in both speech and hearing sciences, with a Bachelor of Speech and Hearing and a
Master of Audiology. That mix is a big part of why she works well with autistic children and their sound
sensitivity, using desensitisation therapy, where a child’s communication, sensory needs and hearing all have
to be understood together.
She feels strongly that no one should be told to simply live with tinnitus. Too many people are sent home
believing nothing can be done, when in truth there is a great deal that helps. Mini takes the time to understand
what is really going on for each person, and works with them and their GP on a plan that suits them.
She trained in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy twice under the neuroscientists who created it, holds a Fellowship
in Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Studies, and teaches other audiologists how to do this work. In 2021 she received
the Sir John Monash Award for Inspirational Women’s Leadership.
GPs are very welcome to refer anyone with hearing, ear, tinnitus or sound sensitivity concerns. Mini keeps
referring doctors in the loop and works alongside them throughout.
